Restoring Connections 2016 taught about 200 students, created pre-trip and field trip curriculum for kindergarten and first grade, and lead 6 pre-trips and field trips, all while engaging in learning and teaching about over 30 local species at Mount Pisgah. They also submitted an article about their adventures and experiences to CLEARING to potentially be published.
Restoring Connections 2017 reached 222 students ranging between kindergarten and second grade. They created the fall, winter, and spring curriculum for second grade and lead 6 pre-trips and field trips. They also participated in Mount Pisgah's Wildflower Festival, teaching 69 children and parents about mason bees! Click here to view the curriculum that we developed.
Restoring Connections 2018 reached 304 students from kindergarten through third grade. They created spring curriculum for third grade and lead 6 pre-trips and field trips at Mount Pisgah Arboretum. This year's team created and facilitated the Adams Elementary Earth Day event which reached 492 students and made national news. Their work was also presented in the Undergraduate Research Symposium held at the University of Oregon.

They developed fall, winter and spring curriculum for fourth grade students and led 15 pre-trips and field trips. They presented their work at the 2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium at the University of Oregon.
Restoring Connections 2020 taught about 36 lessons remotely to 410 kindergarten-5th grade students. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they developed and implemented lessons via Zoom. They developed fall, winter, and spring field trip curriculum for the 5th grade as well as pre-trip lessons for each season. and presented their research at the digital 2020 Undergraduate Research Symposium.
