Jordan Baker
Major: Environmental Studies Minor: Business Administration, Earth Science Jordan grew up in the Salem area enjoying nearby swimming holes and old growth forests with his three brothers. It was these day-time adventures that made him realize his passion is to make sure these natural areas will be available for generations to come. Restoring Connections helped him realize the importance in promoting a love and sense of stewardship for our natural areas to the next generation. Jordan hopes to work with a federal land management agency when he graduates in 2019. |

Audrey Benson
Major: Environmental Studies Audrey grew up in Oak Grove, Oregon where her passion for nature was sparked by her mother, Robin. Audrey hopes to continue exploring her love of the natural world by continuing her education at the University of Oregon and staying involved within her community. |
Ingra Buys
Major: Environmental Studies Ingra was born in Almada, Portugal and moved to Portland, Oregon when she was 5. She graduated from high school in North East Portland where she enjoyed riding her bike around town and swimming in the ocean and in the beautiful lakes of Oregon when possible. Ingra’s parents have always loved hiking and fishing, while keeping an open dialogue about the ways in which humans should act in nature in order to hinder its degradation. This is why Ingra wants to work hands on with local nonprofits to help the community be good stewards to their local environment. She will be graduating in 2018 with a degree in Environmental Studies and Planning Public Policy Management. |
Annabelle Lind
Major: Environmental Studies Secondary Major: Geography Associates: General Sciences and General Studies Annabelle grew up in Eugene and had the dream of being a Duck from a young age. After studying biology for the first few years in college, she found her niche in environmental studies. Environmental policy and community outreach soon became her passion. Restoring Connections rekindled her love for natural places and sparked enthusiasm to be able to give back to her local community through environmental education programs. |
Richie Nguyen Major: Environmental Science Richie is from Portland, Oregon, where he grew up loving doing things outdoors like camping, hiking, swimming. Although he loves the outdoors, it wasn’t until he decided to choose Environmental Science as his major, where he gained more knowledge about how bad the environment has become. He wants to be a good steward to the environment and take what he has learned and keep learning and apply it to community. |
Rachel Watson
Major: Environmental Studies Minor: Sociology After graduating from high school in Texas, Rachel moved to Los Angeles to play music and open a café/apothecary. After living there for ten years, she ventured to Portland, Oregon to be close to her brother and near more greenery. After traveling the world and seeing the pollution and environmental injustices, she moved to Eugene to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies. The more she learns, the more she realizes that values need to change before environmental policy can be effective. Inspired by the Restoring Connections project and all-day field trips at Mount Pisgah Arboretum, she is seeking a career in environmental education to cultivate love and a sense of responsibility for nature. |
